Rosie Heath

Rosie is our registered veterinary nurse, she graduated from Hartpury University in 2019 and joined the team at GVG in April 2024 having worked at an equine hospital in West Sussex for 6 years. Previous to that, Rosie has worked at practices in Warwickshire and Newmarket. Rosie enjoys all aspects of nursing care and is enjoying the new challenge of being out on the road.

Rosie has successfully published an article on radiography and contributed to The Textbook of Equine Nursing

Outside of work Rosie enjoys spending time with friends, travelling and training her dogs.

Dr Ryan McCarthy

Partner - Veterinary Surgeon

Ryan qualified at the Royal Veterinary College, University of London having spent time in Kentucky, USA and Singapore as well as externships in UK hospitals in Newbury, Hampshire, Hertfordshire and Newmarket, working with a variety of horses from racing thoroughbreds to miniature ponies.

Originally from Hertfordshire, Ryan grew up around horses and has ridden and competed since a young age. He’s a keen runner and likes to get out exploring the Surrey routes as often as he can.

Ryan enjoys all aspects of equine practice, although his main clinical interests are in lameness, poor performance and dentistry. Ryan has a voluntary regional veterinary advisor role with the RDA (Riding for Disabled Association), which involves event cover, promoting equine welfare and leading training sessions for RDA volunteers. He was successful in achieving publication in the Equine Veterinary Journal for research in equine lameness diagnostics. He has recently written articles for horse owners on equine dentistry, for Your Horse Magazine. He is an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Equine Dentistry.
